What is RDP?
Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) is made by spray-drying a polymer emulsion. It can be dry-blended with other powders and forms an emulsion again when water is added.
What it does in mortar
- Improves adhesion between mortar and concrete, brick, tile or stone.
- Adds flexibility to help reduce cracks caused by shrinkage or temperature changes.
- Improves water resistance through polymer film formation.
Common uses
RDP is used in tile adhesives, insulation mortars, repair mortars, waterproof mortars and wall putty, as well as gypsum products.
