Adhesion and film formation
Polyvinyl Alcohol 2488 (PVA 2488) provides adhesion and film formation. It can improve the bond between mortar and its substrate and forms a polymer film as it dries.
In wall putty, PVA 2488 helps bind the powder particles, reduce surface dusting and improve trowelling.
Common uses
PVA 2488 is used in dry-mix mortar, tile adhesive and wall putty. It is also used in water-based adhesives for paper, wood and packaging materials.
